20250225 Something Over Nothing

There are a lot of things I’ve almost started.

Drafts that never made it past the title.

Photos that stayed on a memory card.

Videos recorded that were never edited.

Ideas that felt important for a week and then disappeared.

This is an attempt to change that.

Something Over Nothing is exactly what it sounds like.

Not a brand. Not a niche. Not a content strategy.

Just a decision.

To make something instead of nothing.

To publish instead of polishing forever.

To press post instead of close.

I don’t know what this site will become.

It might turn into writing.

It might lean into photography.

It might mostly be links and videos.

It might be inconsistent.

That’s fine.

The point is movement.

There’s a strange pressure now to define yourself before you begin.

Pick a lane.

Know your audience.

Optimize.

I’m not interested in optimizing this.

I’m interested in documenting what I’m thinking about, working on, noticing.

In putting small pieces of effort into the world instead of letting them sit in my head.

If a theme develops over time, great.

If it doesn’t, that’s fine too.

This is just a place to build a body of work, one post at a time.

Some of it will be thoughtful.

Some of it will be rough.

All of it will exist.

That’s already more than nothing.
